The Asian American Artists Society (AAArtistsSociety) is hosting its first invited show inside the Abernathy Arts Center. It is specifically devoted to the arts and artists of Asian Americans. We are dedicated to passing the uniqueness, diversity, and professionalism to the public. 

Important dates:

February 1, 2025 - Submission Deadline

March 15 - Artwork must be delivered to the site by noon

March 15th - May 17th - Exhibition period

March 22 - Open Reception 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Snacks & drinks provided. Free & open to the public

May 17 - Pick up art by noon

Artist Eligibility

This exhibition is only for invited artists by the AAArtistsSociety board members.

Entry fee $ 20 for up to three (3) pieces

Entry fees are nonrefundable whether they are juried into the show or not.

Artwork requirements

Entries must be original, 2-dimensional, or 3 -dimensional fine art. Photography and digital art in print are are prohibited for this show.

Entrants may submit up to three (3) entries.

No nudes, political or controversial.

There is no limit on when an artwork was created.

Size limitation including frames: Minimum of at least 10”, and may not exceed 60” in either width, height, and/ or depth. 

All paintings must be ready for hanging with wire in place, in an appropriate gallery frame or gallery-wrapped canvas. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted.

Works submitted to any  AAArtistsSociety show must be displayed for the duration of the show, including no substitute and no early removal. Please inform your client of the dates for which borrowed work will be on view. 

Any artist who is unable to provide a painting that has been juried into a show will be penalized for not being able to enter the next exhibition.

PLEASE NOTE:  AAArtistsSociety exhibition committee reserves the right to decline artworks that do not fall within the exhibition requirements, or are deemed inappropriate viewing for children. Entries that do not adhere to the guidelines will not be judged. For delivery, any work that varies from the submitted images will be disqualified.

Insurance:

Insurance is the sole responsibility of the artist. AAAS does not provide additional insurance and is not responsible for possible loss or damage to works. By entering, artists agree to not hold AAArtistsSociety and Abernathy Arts Center liable for any loss or damage.

Sales: Sales: The Artist shall directly handle any sale (“Sale”) of Artwork from the Show. Works do not have to be for sale. Your price, or Not for Sale (NFS), must be indicated on your entry. If sales occur, Abernathy Arts Center then requires the individual artist to become a vendor with Abernathy Arts Center. The process for payment takes 6-8 weeks after the closing of the exhibit. There is a 75/25 split in sales, with 75% going to the artists, and 25% going to Abernathy Arts Center.

Rights:

AAArtistsSociety and Abernathy Arts Center reserve the right to photograph and retain images of the exhibit solely for educational, promotional, and documentation purposes in print or on the Internet. By entering the exhibition, you agree to all conditions herein.
