Vice President of the AAAS, Gloria W. Chan is an artist and art educator based in Atlanta, GA. She believes that arts can be formed as an educational and/or communication instrument to lead her audience to understand the cultural differences from different perspectives. She focuses on a unique technique, called "Double Light Effect", which combining Ultraviolet (UV) and Phosphorescent (Glow in the dark) effect with traditional painting mediums, which allows two version of a painting be seen under certain light settings. Ken is a mental health professional having worked as an Army Social Work officer, leadership trainer, consultant, and psychotherapist specializing in post-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and addiction. He provides support for art and insights into trauma, art therapy, cultural diversity and inclusion, and our organization. He has been the primary capital contributor to Diary of Dragon’s daughter LLC film producing efforts, co-producing and narrating for short “An Artist’s Journey from China to America.” The documentary short received over 60 awards/selections from national and international filmmaker festivals in 2021.
